i like that thought!...but why didn't it work if it was true love? or maybe he was missing something else and whatever king george had to offer at the time he needed more than he did the true love at the time...

I think it part of him trying to create (more) True Love potion, he did say he's a big fan of what true love creates and that no two loves are exactly alike. He wanted Charming's twin as a baby and Ruth said she and her husband had true love. I think this is why he wants the babies, when it doesn't work he deals them to people that want them (e.g. - King George).

For now, I think it was a reference to Rumpelstiltskin original story (i mean the millers' daughter story where he is mention) the same way i think they did with SW saying "She tried to kill me because she thought I was prettier than her" we all knew, in the show, that was not the real motive EQ hated SW. So I think sometimes they do this thing so we can still connect and remember or childhood fairytales and connect them with the show. BUT still I think there has to be some other reason! But no clue! Guess I'll have to wait till season 2 ! haha
