    How to post a table

Post by cuddlyasatiger on Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:45 am

The editor provided with the forum allows for code that builds tables. Copy/paste Word document tables at your own risk. Word uses it's own coding and will probably mess up - especially if you try to edit. I will list the codes here and give an example.

NOTE: All codes are to be enclosed with brackets '[]' in order for the editor to recognize them.

    Table ElementStart CodeEnd Code
Table Border - generally letting the editor know a a table is comingtable border="1"/table
    Row start and endtr/tr
    Column start and endtd/td

Click the "Insert a table" button, fourth set of buttons along the top of the "Post" Box, third button
Enter how many rows down then how many columns across
    Enter information in between the
    Code:
    [td] and [/td]

So a 3x2 table would look like the following
    Code:

    [table border="1"]
    [tr][td]HEADER 1[/td] [td]HEADER 2[/td][/tr]
    [tr][td]row 2 column 1 stuff[/td] [td]row 2 column 2 stuff[/td][/tr]
    [tr][td]row 3 column 2 stuff[/td] [td]row 3 column 2 stuff[/td][/tr]
    [/table]

    Would look like:

    HEADER 1HEADER 2
    row 2 column 1 stuffrow 2 column 2 stuff
    row 3 column 1 stuffrow 3 column 2 stuff
