Jiminy grows up being forced to steal and scam by his parents. On a trip to sell trinkets to Rumplestiltskin, Jiminy deals for a potion that will turn his parents into puppets freeing him of them. However, his plan backfires when his father switches the vials and Gepetto's parents are transformed instead. Overwhelmingly sorry for his actions, Jiminy asks the Blue Fairy to turn him into a cricket. She tells him to stay with Gepetto and be his guide, he will live as long as Gepetto needs him. Jiminy is on the War Council after the Evil Queen's vow to take away all the happy endings, he advises not to take up arms against her.
In Storybrooke, Archie Hopper is a therapist. His best friend is Marco, and his dalmatian's name is Pongo. He goes up against Regina over Henry's care after having to rescue him from an abandoned, collapsing mine. Henry ran into the mine after both Emma and Archie revealed that they didn't believe him. Archie vows to never go against his conscience again.
