New Character in NYC - Neal Cassady

First topic message reminder :

Peter Pan. He has an indian dream-catcher on the wall by his window and a number of other amerian indian style amulets (for lack of a better word) hanging near the door. He knows about the curse enough for someone to send him a message that it's broken yet he's so young. That leads me to think that he doesn't age. If he's not Peter Pan, I'd be very surprised.

I think they said we'd slowly find out and that we'll know by Christmas break. I still say author. I'm so beyond confident. Now, I'm not saying the author can't be someone else too but definitely author.

What we might end up with here is a repeat of the Stranger scenario where some of us were like "He's the 7 year old" and Ranna was like, "He's Pinocchio" and turns out both were right.

Maybe he'll be the author and Bae or something? I stick with author. I see PP and White Rabbit as good guesses, though. The big thing I'm trying to make sense of is why did he sigh and look bummed out when the rain started? Maybe that will make more sense as we slowly learn more.

yeah i think we will slowly get bits and pieces to his full identity...but that would be totally cool if we got the full story before the mid season break!

Yes - I still have my vote choice as Henry's dad and someone else not mentioned!

This guy will probably be the big mystery for the entire season...like if he is Henry's dad we might find that out earlier...but we won't find out who his story/FT counterpart is until nearly the end or something!

i read somewhere we do find his identity within the first 9 episodes, i think that article where they were disecting his house.. but that could just be his FTW counterpart or something, and then at the end find out his importance and more about his back story

Yes - I still have my vote choice as Henry's dad and someone else not mentioned!

I definitely think he will be tied to more than one of the characters. Most likely Emma & August since they were the only ones who we know of that were out and about outside of SB.

It is also entirely possible that this guy is Henry's father, Baelfire, & Peter Pan (or a Lost Boy)...although I hope Henry's father isn't Bae or PP since he supposedly was such a dirt bag!

i like this new character and scene...reminds me of LOST when we meet desmond and then the hatch is blown open.

if this is at all reminiscent of LOST in this respect, the character's identity and connection to the main characters will be VERY interesting.

I'm sticking with Henry's dad...

Actually that is my new theory...his mom or Peter Pan finds him in our world and takes him to NNL. Regardless of who finds him he ends up connecting with his mom in NNL. Maybe he even is Peter Pan too...and that is why he hates Hook so much...bwahahaha

don't think mr nyc guy is Bae though...at least not yet...

i think my favorite theory (if he is in OW world and is relatively young and alive) is that Peter Pan finds him and he becomes a Lost Boy going to NNL...maybe now he is in OW.

Might make sense too if his mom didn't die but was hanging out with Hook and company...maybe she found him in OW and took him to NNL...

I don't know anything about pet cemetery. I'm guessing you're referring to the horror movie(s)? I don't do scary... instead of saying I'm a chicken, let's call it "over-active imagination"

I hope they don't do time travel mainly because with the characters going back and forth between worlds, it could get really complicated to have to keep up with not only who's where but also when.

I'm going with idea #1: something similar to what Jiminy/Archie has on him.

i agree on the tombstone part. I think though when H/K said that they were referring to a very specific event and not necessarily time travel as a whole...

might be fun if Bae found a time machine...or if something happened when he came to OW since he was touching the Dark One...like some kind of Quantum Leap thing...lots of possibilities...maybe he even joined up with the Back to the future folks when they went back really far in time (although i think when they went back it was in the 1800s and not 1700s)...would love to see McFly and friends and a flux capacitor...haha...but who needs time travel when you have Frankenstein close by...then there is the pet cemetary...hmmm

Okay two things I'd like point out

1. It doesn't necessarily have to be time travel. The BF could have put a spell on Bae similar to the one she put on Jiminy ("you will live as long as [Gepetto] needs you" type thing) Which makes it possible he's Bae or Bae's guide or what ever.

2. We know for sure now that time progresses at the same rate in FTL as it does in OW, Prince Phillip, or maybe it was Mulan, tells Aurora she's been asleep for 28 years. And H/K said they wouldn't be doing time travel per se, so if it's not #1 then yea Bae should be dead, but I don't think he is. Rump has gone to a lot of trouble to find a tombstone then.

The Blue Fairy has kept up with Bae, since it would be borderline evil to send a 13 yo into OW with no guidance, and now she's telling him he can see his dad again.

Or this is Jack (Beanstalk) and in order to get the magic beans he agreed to help the BF when she needed him, he was Bae's guide to the new world, and now he'll tell Bae that if he wants to see his dad again he can.

For what it's worth I am rewatching "The Stranger" and when Emma approaches Gold in his shop for help getting custody of Henry, you see a typewriter between them. If he IS the author, there's a link to Rumpel there.

Maybe its not so much a willing assistant but rather someone Rump made a deal with? Let's say when Regina said all the lands were destroyed, it meant all the other worlds too.

So this could be Peter Pan, made a deal with Rump to keep his memories (i.e.- NOT go to SB)?

or someone else (Robin Hood!) could have stumbled on to Rump making the curse and made a deal with rump to keep his memories?

Ok i don't even remember what I voted for now on this but whatever it is I am keeping it as is...for now...however I have a couple of THEORIES on who this guy could be based on various thoughts I have either had or seen by others!

In all the theories I think he will end up being Henry's father...So I think he is Henry's father AND:

1.) Rump's assistant (like an Igor or something)...We never saw Rump with an assistant but he did like to have servants. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he had an assistant as well. He figures he won't remember ANYTHING for 28 years and he is going to need some help on the outside. So he sets up a plan to get his assistant OUT of FTL before The Curse is cast who will remember everything and will have kind of been working for Rump/Gold only Gold won't remember all the details until he remembers his FTL past. This guy helped to orchestrate the adoption of Henry and likes to train carrier pigeons...This is also why Rumple needed the Fairy Wand...he needed it to keep the guy from aging for 28 years...OR maybe that is why he was always after babies...he needed to have a young child come through before The Curse that he had trained for a specific purpose. This also might explain why there was only ONE tree left...Rump used the other trees practicing sending young boys to OW until he finally got it right!

2.) This is someone the Blue Fairy sent through before The Curse and he has been helping her on the outside. If this is the case I am all for he is Peter Pan and he made the choice to help out Blue cause NNL is also at risk or will be destroyed as well. He has aged 28 years since coming...but he was already very familiar with OW from all of his visits. Not sure that I like the idea that Henry's father (who sounded like he was a real douche bag) is PP...but maybe PP was playing a part in order to get Emma to give up Henry knowing that he would be the catalyst that would bring her to SB later on.
